Bijoy Jain's design for the 2016 MPavilion – an event hub, meeting place and temporary landmark that will open in Melbourne's Queen Victoria Gardens in October – has been unveiled in a short film.
Jain, the head of Studio Mumbai, was selected in February by the Noami Milgrom Foundation for the third annual MPavilion. As explained in the short film, the architect's material of choice is bamboo, making the MPavilion about the nature of materials rather than the exploration of technology, as in last year's pavilion by AL_A. Jain's temporary MPavilion is set to be open to the public from 5 October 2016 to 5 February 2017.
