The Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC) is now accepting entries for the third $100,000 RAIC International Prize, formerly known as the Moriyama RAIC International Prize.
Until April 26, 2019, the RAIC is accepting entries "from architects anywhere in the world, of any nationality." The RAIC says the buildings should be "inspired as well as inspiring and reflect humanistic values of equality, respect, and inclusiveness." Projects, like the previous two winners, should have been completed and in use for at least two years.

The RAIC International Prize was established in 2014 by RAIC Gold Medal recipient Raymond Moriyama. There's no animosity in the name change though. As quoted in the RAIC's news room, Moriyama said, "Now that the uniqueness and importance of the International Prize is widely recognized, and that the name of the RAIC has gained weight in the international world of architecture, Sachi and I happily return the torch back to the RAIC to manage the International Prize."
As is increasingly the norm in architecture prizes created or refashioned this decade (e.g., RIBA International Prize) jurors of the RAIC International Prize will visit all finalist projects to see the buildings in use and "appreciate their impact on society and human well-being." The winner will be announced on October 25, 2019 at a gala event in Toronto.
The 2019 jury is made up of Anne Carrier (Anne Carrier Architecture), Stephen Hodder (Hodder Associates), Barry Johns (Barry Johns Architects), Eva Matsuzaki (founder of Women in Architecture), Diarmuid Nash (jury chair, Moriyama & Teshima Architects), and Gilles Saucier (Saucier+Perrotte Architectes).
