Schüco One – A Forward-Looking Headquarters Combining Modernity with Sustainable Architecture

The Schüco One headquarters, designed by 3XN architects from Copenhagen, not only completes the Schüco Campus in Bielefeld, but also sets new standards for modern, more sustainable corporate architecture. As the first building in the world, Schüco One will receive LEED, BREEAM, and DGNB certifications.

With a total area of 7,200 m², the building reflects the company's core values – innovation, openness, and sustainability. Clear, organic shapes and natural daylight define the interior, with a central atrium that extends across all floors. Based on New-Work principles, open workspaces promote creative collaboration and interaction among employees. Individually designed, enclosed areas offer retreat spaces and room for uninterrupted work.

In addition to the architectural design, particular emphasis was placed on sustainability during construction: Every aspect, from the choice of materials to the building's technical systems, was carefully considered with ecological and social responsibility in mind to ensure the highest sustainability standards.

Interior Fit-Out with Precision and Quality
The Lindner Group played a key role in the implementation of essential construction trades. Dry construction works provide modern, flexible solutions while meeting high acoustic standards. The Plafotherm® DS 320 ceiling panels not only offer excellent sound absorption but also contribute to creating a comfortable indoor climate. Their open construction promotes natural air circulation and ensures efficient temperature regulation, with the combination of thermally active and passive areas offering high flexibility.

For the flooring, Lindner opted for resource-efficient, functional systems. The NORTEC raised floor is made of non-combustible calcium sulfate panels, offering excellent sound insulation and high load-bearing capacity. The use of pre- and post-consumer recycled paper in the system meets the highest ecological standards, and it was the first raised flooring system worldwide to be awarded Cradle to Cradle® Silver certification.

The FLOOR and more® hollow-core floor, also Cradle to Cradle® Silver certified, not only allows the discreet integration of technical installations and cable trays beneath the calcium sulphate panels but also provides high fire and smoke protection in Schüco One.

Inviting Details for a Cohesive Overall Concept
The interior fit-out package was rounded off with stylish wooden cladding and foyer stairs, creating a warm and prestigious atmosphere in the entrance area. Soundproof and fire-resistant wooden doors meet both aesthetic and functional requirements, accentuating the high quality of the furnishings.

Clear lines, plenty of natural light, and flexible workspaces characterise the open office areas of Schüco One.
