The joint municipality of Zeven is located in the heart of the Elbe-Weser triangle. In order to ensure greater operational readiness for the joint municipal and local fire departments, the two existing fire departments were merged.
The one and two-storey building extends in an elongated shape from west to east and impresses with its clear and elegant cubature. The color-combined accents and material changes support the striking function, mark special areas such as the main entrance with the radio room above and the vehicle hall and create an identity-forming and new face within the quarter.
A dark grey clinker brick forms the outer skin of the building and becomes the defining façade material. Alarm red accents in the façade design are visible from everywhere and emphasize the address of the fire station. A row of amber trees in front of the fire station have an intense effect on the street space for several weeks in autumn with their »fiery« red autumn coloring.
The color concept is also carried over into the interior. The main staircase and elevator welcome users like a red carpet and form the prestigious entrance to the upper floor. The alarm routes are highlighted by the red coloring of the door frames. This ensures good orientation within the building in the event of an alarm.
Just like the clear cubature from the outside, the clear arrangement of the functions in the interior is impressive and enables the fire department to operate effectively and smoothly at all times.
