The new AUMA head office in Müllheim / Baden covers a gross floor area (GFA) of 11,500 m². The design planning started in 2011 and was completed with commissioning in 2017

On the outside, the building shows a richly faceted, elongated structure, sitting by the sometimes large overhangs slightly above the glass floor. The four-storey head of the building is connected on the street side via a walk-through corridor to the rear component, which has two floors. On the side facing away from the street, the building opens at this point and the inner courtyard and the cut-out terrace of the staff restaurant open up on the ground floor. A staircase leads to the terrace surrounding the courtyard at the level of the first floor.

The silver facade made of diamond and trapezoidal shaped aluminum panels connects the separated bodies on the upper floors and gives the building a technical, contemporary character. Floor to ceiling glass facades on the ground floor provide deep insights into the building. Expanded sheet metal elements made of stainless steel, presented to the windows on the upper floor, give the building an additional impression of lightness and transparency.

The main entrance to the new administration is under a long overhang at the head of the building. Here you reach the foyer after the porch, to the side delimited by glazed meeting rooms and staircase cores interconnected with wooden slats. The foyer continues upwards in the middle through a courtyard. The 3 upper floors are connected via the centrally arranged, sculptural staircase. Illuminated via the flanking green courtyards and the spacious skylight, in this central zone are placed tea kitchens and open communication zones for the employees. The adjoining Meeting rooms and offices are separated from the middle zone by glass walls. Inside placed boxes made of curved wooden elements offer space for concentrated work and accommodate office infrastructure such as printers and storage space

The large-format cassette ceilings stretch across all levels, the heating - cooling ceiling finds its place in the rounded ceiling fields. Each field is divided in the middle by the specially made extruded channel, which houses the lighting, smoke detectors, sprinklers and other ceiling-bound, building technology elements. The rear end of the foyer is formed by a wide interior greenery with a view of the ground-level courtyard between the parts of the building.

Laterally, one reaches the rear part of the building via the one-story connecting wing, here is the staff restaurant for 120 people placed on the ground floor with individually designed furniture and greenery. From the staff restaurant you enter the wooden covered courtyard, the outside furniture is made of the same wood and offers open and covered spaces for work and breaks. The staircase arching down from the coffered ceiling leads to the upper floor of the rear part of the building. Training and seminar rooms for around 140 people are distributed around the inner sanitary core, which can be individually interconnected using mobile partition walls, and thus they also allow large events for up to 220 people.
