Triangular courtyard parent-child house
On a large site with a frontage of 10m and a depth of 60m, there is already a main house for 2.5 families, and we were asked to subdivide part of the site to build a house for a mother and her daughter to live together. The client wanted a minimalist design with a triangular roof, and while searching for a manufacturer, the photographs of Ishikawa's work caught their eye at a housing consultation event, and they asked us to design the house for them. The exterior design is a combination of two gable-roofed houses. The rooms are arranged in an L-shape with the mother's private room, LDK, and water on the first floor, and the daughter's private room on the second floor, surrounding the garden to the south. The garden is roofed to provide adequate shade and space under the eaves, and is connected to the entrance approach.
