Porsche is synonym for technical perfection, precision, passion, speed and Understatement. Porsche Dortmund with its new building shape confers significantly all these attributes.
The building follows the motorway (B1) forming a direct gateway to the airport business park. The building consists of two units - a foundation block adapted to the topography and a metallic membran which encloses a 8 meter high and 130 meters long space. The silhouette reminds of an aluminum extruded section - as significant reference to the high technical qualities of the Porsche products. Everything is visible - technical service is staged in.
A Café Lounge supplies live pictures of current racing events, shows current production processes or test runs of the Porsche history. At night the building communicates over the transparent fronts with a light installations showing Porsche images. The constructions of the house are altogether prefabricated - the concrete socle of the building consists of three curved, diagonally standing shorings, computer-animated laser and welding machines produces the steal and aluminum construction units, each modules will be joined on site.
