The second branch at Zurich Airport was opened in 1980 and is located in a highly frequented place in a hall with history. Open daily from early morning until late in the evening, the bakery offers a last chance to eat before passengers embark on their journey. While the sales processes in all eleven Steiner Flughafebeck locations are standardized, there is room at each location to find a unique retail concept that fits the locale. No two stores are the same, yet they are recognizable as a brand. Pfeffermint started the project with an assortment analysis and was able to generate space for seating and a place to linger briefly by refining the product offering. The given low ceiling height and the peculiar floor plan - with a floor spike running far into the store - required an independent design solution. Light floor and ceiling colors brighten up the entire space considerably, allowing it to successfully assert itself visually within the storefront. A color band in contemporary blue-green runs through all areas and visually skillfully connects the bench with the product presentation on the sideboard and the central bread shelf. The use of light ash wood and dark lava stone complements the mix of materials to create a lively and cozy bistro atmosphere. The lovely styling adds the finishing touches to the interior and makes the craftsmanship palpable.
