SGL Carbon moves into the Rheingau Palais, Schierstein. The graphite specialist SGL Carbon relocated its head office to the Rheingau Palais in Schierstein, which was once the headquarters of the Sektkellerei Henkell.
The MDAX-listed company employs approx. 6,000 people worldwide, more than 130 in Wiesbaden itself. SGL Carbon manufactures products based on carbon, from aircraft component to large electrodes for steel furnaces. The shareholders include the machine manufacturer Voith, the Landesbank Baden-Württemberg and the holding company of Susanne Klatten. The migration to Wiesbaden-Schierstein offers the possibility to combine the previously multiple locations in Wiesbaden under one roof.
SGL Carbon will rent the location. The owner of the palais, which has been designated a historic landmark, is Delta Lloyd Real Estate Management S.a.r.l.. HS.02 huthwelker.stoehr + partner revitalized the Rheingau Palais including the associated villa on an area of about 6,000 square meters. Also we were responsible for the project management.
