For the third time we are assigned with the design of a fair booth to represent the Japanese firm TOTO at the ISH 2013 in Frankfurt.
In order to display the products in a modern and human-scale environment on an overall area of 1300sqm, we designed four cubical buildings surrounding a light pavilion. The arrangement of the buildings creates pathways reminding of circulation within urban structures.
Small gardens are distributed around the space and visitors are encouraged to take a walk along the rooms. The windows of the buildings allow various insights and outlooks, which gives transparency to the cubes.
The façade of the central pavilion reflects the traditional Japanese pattern for water drops. This is also where TOTO shows the most innovative products and their ways of using water.
