„For genuine wood lovers the HOLZRAUM is a must! – Equipped with seat opportunities, the HOLZRAUM becomes a „Freizeitbungalow" in the garden. Here you can meet in all weathers with friends and family or just relax easily and as utility shed it offers room for lawn-mower, hedge trimmers, garden furniture or bicycles.
HOLZRAUM is avaliable in different sizes and price ranges. In well-assorted do-it-yourself stores all necessary individual parts (roof slats, clamping belts etc.) can be bought directly without long delivery times. Attention: It is important to inform yourself about the local building regulations before you start to build the structure. Usually no building permit is needed for a small HOLZRAUM. The regulations can be different in every state and vary from municipality to municipality.
All the information you need can be found at your local building inspection office. Usually in germany the distance to the adjacent site must be at least three meters. If all the legal issues are clarified you just have to find the right place for your HOLZRAUM.
It should be build close at hand - but maybe a little apart from the house. For a calm atmosphere it can be shielded for example by a hedge.
A firm base provides a safe construction. You don´t have to be a professional - even with some craftsman skills your HOLZRAUM is built up quick and easily. An experts hint: Use an air level to check if everything is horizontally. Since the HOLZRAUM is exposed to the weather every now and then throughout the year, the quality of the materials is very important! Wood such as spruce and fir is most suitable for the use outside in the garden.“
HOLZRAUM was developed as exhibition system for a project at plan 07, forum contemporary architecture cologne. Basic of the construction are standardized roof slats, which are fixed only thru clamping belts without additional screw connections. Further sizes and function variants where developed and have been presented at different places around cologne. Look out for them!
