On the ground floor of an apartment building in Strubikon-Brütten we have built in a 3.5 room flat. The new flat consists of a large kitchen and living room with open fireplace, two bedrooms, a dressing room with access to the spacious bathroom and a separate WC. Two garages and the oil heating system with tank room were removed and the washing and drying room relocated.

All exterior walls were insulated on the inside. In the area of the new living rooms and bedrooms, the floor slab was lowered and also thermally insulated. The heat is generated by an air-water heat pump and distributed by wall and partly floor heating.

In the interior, the focus was on natural materials. Clay plaster was used for the interior walls, while the interior surfaces of the exterior walls were given a lime plaster finish. In the living rooms, brushed and naturally oiled oak parquet was laid, in the kitchen area ornamented cement tiles. All built-in furniture is made of oak.
