Bezeau designed the houses so the walls are made from air-filled (not crushed) plastic bottles placed in wire cages, then covered in stucco. The bottles serve as insulation in the warm climate, while even doubling as floatation devices in the event of a tsunami. Bezeau admits it's a crazy idea, but a necessary one due to the tremendous amount of plastic not being recycled and therefore ending up in the oceans.
