Part of Mission Bay, Fibrogen Headquarters provided a grand opportunity to create a theatrical prospect to the San Francisco waterfront. The project's signature piece, a 1.5-acre on-structure plaza, sits 13 feet above street level with framed views of the bay. The southern part of the plaza, planted with native grasses, provides intimate spaces for gathering, while the great lawn to the north “spills” off the podium as it reaches for the water. Stadium seating terraces down to the park below, creating a public amphitheater to the San Francisco waterfront.
