Lagula Arquitectes is an architectural firm based in Barcelona since 2001. It brings together five partners and a team of collaborators. The firm develops projects for public and private customers of different size and typology including residential and hotel developments, cultural and civic centres, sports facilities and public space, among other. Lagula combines the practice of architecture with research and teaching in Spain (UPC-Tech, UIC, IAAC, ELISAVA) and international universities (Tsinghua University of Beijing, AAVA London).

Lagula Arquitectes professional practice is based on a non-conventional use of traditional materials and techniques. Their work explores the opportunities of the site, while taking advantage of geometry and programmatic conditions as an architectural archetype screening tool. It implies the understanding of a place adding construction traditions and social behaviours to the sense of landscape, working in the specificity of the local, environmental, and cultural conditions.

Their work obtained prizes in many architectural competitions, as the International Housing Competition VIVA (2007) (Vasco-Mayacina intervention), or the Museum of La Patum (2010) in Berga, Barcelona, a Catalan Festival declared Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. Lagula Arquitectes are often invited as speakers in international congresses and conferences. Their work has been selected at the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award 2014; the 55th Venice Biennale in 2012, the FAD Prizes (2002), and through national and international architecture websites and publications.
