For the new Corporate Centre of GFT AG in the Fasanenhof district of Stuttgart-Möhringen, an existing office building was converted and refurbished and supplemented by the construction of a new restaurant on the ground floor. For this, an autonomous, closed building is placed next to the existing GFT building to which it is functionally attached. The position of the new building defines a rear, introverted external space oriented to the west that is directly connected to the new restaurant. The expansion links the building to the Schelmenwasenstrasse in the front where a ramp defines the new main entrance providing the building with its formal address.

In our design, the restaurant, glazed room-high on its long sides, forms a new entrance to the GFT and encloses a garden courtyard that can be used as a hortus conclusus by employees and external visitors as a place of concentration and reflection. Exposed concrete surfaces and glass characterise the atmosphere of the new building. Analogous to this colour and material mood, the old building was also reduced to its shell condition in some areas. As a result, the offices develop an experimental and innovative charm.
