Villa J. in Noordwijk aan Zee was designed by Ruud Room and Sophie Schäfer of the firm of architects rens architecten in Emmen. A modern, energy-efficient house has been built with all contemporary amenities. The building is characterised by a high insulation level of the shell and a sophisticated ventilation system with heat recovery. The characteristics correspond to the passive house standard.
A KNX system from JUNG contributes to the sustainable design of the villa. It makes the use of the house convenient and secure at the same time. The system was installed by Noort Elektrotechniek from Sassenheim, which also took on the role of the system integrator. Using the JUNG KNX system, underfloor heating, ventilation and lighting are controlled. At the same time, systems from third parties are integrated, such as the alarm system, door communication and the heat pump. In this way, fault reports from third-party devices are managed via the KNX system. If the alarm system goes off, a message is received on the mobile phone. Messages are also sent if a door or a window is open. In addition, the lights throughout the house are switched on if the alarm is triggered. In this way, the KNX system forms the modern backbone of building technology.
The KNX system is operated on the move by an iPad and the occupants’ smartphones. Furthermore, all rooms have KNX control points in a stylish design. The F 50 push buttons by JUNG control lighting, temperature and ventilation and are kept in the classic LS 990 switch design. Their colour, matt graphite black, adapts perfectly to the colour concept of the house. The push buttons on the clean, white walls of the villa are no less elegant than on their coloured wall surfaces. The latter – like the indigo-blue wall of the dining room – set dignified accents in all rooms.
