The challenge of this project was to convert the existing area in the second floor of a building which formerly belonged to the firm Buckbee into a high-class, modern office.
The technical challenge was an extremely high deepness of about 20 meters of the existing space which should be supplied with natural light. The space should also be prepared with climate control and ventilation in the best possible way. This modern office landscape should shelter 24 new workplaces.
In addition a cafeteria with break room, a meeting-point and a storage room for paper with printer should be integrated. In order to obtain as much natural light as possible into the office-space twelve large-sized toplights were sited equally allocated over the roof. These constitute axes of light where the workplaces are arranged along. Niched as soon as insular workplaces were installed with the help of room-high built-in components of walls from lightweight construction.
Into these walls holes similar to windows were cut out which allow views into several directions and communication by shared looks. The intention is to connect the advantages of an Open Space Office, communication and teamwork with the option of individual solitary working.
The assigned materials, white coated gypsum-board walls and walnut industrial parquet in connection with economically used stress of colour and lounge furniture, give this office a bright, friendly and comfortable character.
