Five of the six winning projects in this year's Progressive Architecture Awards were designed by World-Architects member firms.
The annual awards for unbuilt and in-progress architectural designs were started in 1954 by Progressive Architcture, a magazine that folded in 1996. Since 2007 the awards have been carried out by ARCHITECT magazine, owned by Hanley Wood.
For 2015, the three-person jury (Ammar Eloueini, AEDS; Jennifer Marmon, PAR; and Thomas Phifer, Thomas Phifer and Partners) favored projects exhibiting "contextual formalism." As described at ARCHITECT, the "jury responded, overwhelmingly, to projects that look outward to find their core principles."
