The Dulwich Picture Gallery has announced that young architects Pricegore, teaming up with artist Yinka Ilori, have won the competition for the Dulwich Pavilion 2019 with "Colour Palace."
Pricegore and Ilori bested five other designs that were shortlisted last month and are on display at Dulwich Picture Gallery until July 22nd. "Colour Palace" was selected by a jury that included architect Mary Duggan, architecture critic Oliver Wainwright, and writer/broadcaster Tom Dyckhoff, and included input from a public vote.

"Colour Palace" is a cubic structure that is elevated above the ground on four large round columns. The exterior will be covered by Ilori's Nigerian-inspired artwork, while the interior structure will be accessible as a walkway that might function as a mezzanine for events.

When opened in summer 2019, the pavilion will house new ticketing facilities and pop-up catering and will host a range of events over the summer for both Dulwich Picture Gallery and co-host London Festival of Architecture.

"Colour Palace" is the second iteration of the Dulwich Pavilion, coming two years after IF_DO's timber-framed pavilion opened during the London Festival of Architecture in 2017.
